Drunk on Comics Podcast 257: How Are Our Levels?

This past week the dynamic duo of Linz and Tony had a bit of trouble finding any tidbits of news in the comic world.   But they persisted and found enough to make another weekly episode of the podcast you all know and love.   They get started with some reviews in off the shelf.   Tony picked up 2 books this week that he wanted to bring up to listeners, which were Tekken #1 and Misfit City #1.   Both books brought him back to the good ol’ days, with the subject matter of each being a part of his childhood.

Linz reviewed Jean Grey #1 which was a shocker…  NOT!  Linz’s obsession with Jean Grey is uncanny.   And that is not just a pun, it’s true.  While they both were in agreement that more than likely this will follow the same old story of the Dark Phoenix saga, Linz is hopeful it will go in another direction.   However, after listening to her talk about it, Tony is less than hopeful.

Some numbers from the box office show Guardians Vol. 2 is still a hit, while a lackluster overseas shows a Power Rangers sequel on life support.   But good/bad news for Hellboy fans, with the announcement of a new Hellboy series being created for the big screen.   Also everyone that enjoys comic books should check out Batman and Bill, which chronicles the story of the family of Bill Finger getting him credits to the caped crime fighter.

Best on Tap was All-New Wolverine #20 by Leonard Kirk.

Booze and a Book was A.D. After Death #3 paired with a Gin and Tonic.
