Drunk on Comics Podcast 283: Jestem Batmanem

Linz and Tony love Batman.  The books coming out of DC involving him are topping the charts, and there is good reason.  They are that good.   With a plethora of titles to choose from, they all have their own unique stories that add to the mythos that Bruce Wayne has become.

Tony reviewed the Batman #32, which is the end of The War of Jokes and Riddles arc.   From the silent first pages to the epic conclusion, this book shed a new vulnerability in Bruce that he never knew existed.  Also, readers finally get the answer to the marriage proposal made 2 months ago.  Where will this lead Bruce, Batman, as well as the Bat Family is an intriguing narrative about to unfold.

Linz reviewed Batman: White Knight #1, which also played off of the themes within Batman #32.  Seeing the genius of this worlds Joker when he is not insane is hard to grasp at first, but the shocking portrayal of him becoming the good guy does not bode well for Bruce.   The recklessness with no consequences of Batman that many fans have thought about on many occasion are finally being told in this story.  With superb writing and amazing art, it is a series everyone should pick up.

Booze and a Book was the DC Ashcan for Doomsday Clock (found here) paired with Doom from Founders Brewing.

Best on Tap goes to all the marvel variant “How to Draw” covers from Chip Zdarsky.
