Drunk on Comics Podcast 284: Working for The Weekend
Linz and Tony are back in the studio this week to give you another fun filled episode of Drunk on Comics!
This week Tony reviewed Runaways #2, which Linz was excited about because he could finally reassure her that even though she had never read the original series, she could stick with this one and the writer (Rainbow Rowell) would fill her in eventually. Tony likes the direction this current iteration of the series is heading in, which is a good sign, because he really likes the original series.
Linz reviewed Eugenics #1 (James Tynion IV, BOOM! Studios). This is the first part of a three-issue series. It deals with scientist curing a diseases that has wiped out millions of people, but not without him playing god. This is a great story and a terrifying look at a possible future. The next issue takes place 200 years after the first one, so this story is going to play out fast!
In news this week there was talks of movies to come, movies that may or may not be coming, and some upcoming Marvel collaborations. They also chatted about Grand Rapids Comic Con, which is happening October 20-22 at Devos Place in Grand Rapids, Michigan (hometown of DoC!).
Booze and a Book this week was Tomahawk #1 paired with a Tomahawk shooter (hey, they can’t all be nuanced).
