Drunk on Comics Podcast 303: Linz’s Heart Attack

It’always great when past members of the crew drop in unexpectedly to lend a review.  But what is even better is when they do it without Linz or Tony knowing.  And when Matt came in briefly, it nearly killed Linz.

But Matt talked about Doctor Strange #385.  He explained how most of what has transpired has been a lie.  Seems fitting for someone like Loki.   Now that his plan is out of the bag, all of his ideas seem to be right up his alley.  A great story arc in the realm of Marvel Magic.

Linz reviewed the new Kick-Ass #1.  It is set in its own universe, and although it seemed like it would be a continuation of the previous story, it is going in it’s own direction.  Tony discussed Sideways #1, which is one of the new heroes spawning out of the Metal books of DC.   While teleporters are not prevalent in the DC universe, seeing a new hero on his first adventures is refreshing in this world.   Having this person be a teenager, with dialogue that seems on point, is also a great to get new readers into the DC universe.

Best on Tap was a New Super-Man and the Justice League of China #20 by Philip Tan.

Booze and a Book was Death of Love #1 paired with Hot Loins from Shorts Brewing Company.
