Drunk on Comics Podcast Special Edition: Paradise Prison Barback

Derek and Tony got the chance to sit down with both Tim Kenyon and Rob Garcia who are funding a kickstarter project for their book Paradise Prison.  We went to our favorite watering hole and had a few beers with the guys while discussing the project.  Below is the press release with more details on the project:

Capstan Comics announced last month a Kickstarter campaign to fund the release of the first issue in a new comic series by Endtime creator, Tim Kenyon. The new series, Paradise Prison, is being drawn by Rob Garcia. Tim and Rob joined forces after discussing the series at length at last year’s Grand-Con Gaming and Comic Convention in Grand Rapids, MI. The series brings together Tim’s gritty crime noir writing with Rob’s sharp contrast and Frank Miller-style attention to the story’s bleakness and dark shadows delivering a comic that is as sharp as it is unsettling.

Paradise Prison follows Billy Flood, an inmate of near-future America’s answer to prison overcrowding—the world’s first virtual reality prison. With a plan to guarantee rehabilitation, the government turns the bars and gates into elaborate homes and fast cars. At first, this new paradise appears to be delivering on its promise. Billy and his fellow inmates are changed men. The real challenge seems to be getting out alive. In Paradise Prison, parole equals death. So who or what doesn’t want them to leave? Billy is determined to find out before his time comes.

Tim,  in cooperation with Capstan Comics, is in the final week of a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to print the first issue of Paradise Prison. He hopes that with the help of project backers he can raise enough to get the first issue ready for the conventions in 2014. The Kickstarter project is running until February 20th.
