Drunk on Comics Podcast 145: The Ultimate Audio Entertainment Synthesizer Podcast
Derek and Tony had a surprise guest in the studio for this week’s podcast. Former “intern” Jim, who is all grown up now doing comic book stuff after receiving the guidance only Drunk on Comics has to offer, joined the guys to fill them in on his work. More on him later, but first we have some books to talk about.
Derek got into some old school nostalgia with Jem and the Holograms #1. It’s an updated version to the rockin’ cartoon of the 80’s which is stunning in the visuals. Tony spoke of the excellent story arcs being presented in Inhuman #13, and it’s definitely heading in a solid direction. Jim picked up a book that is very surreal with Mulitiversity: Ultra Comics #1, which you really need to read in order to understand the dire threat having this comic in the real world poses. Derek also briefly brought it back again with Miami Vice Remix #1 as well.
Indie Turnpike was an amazing and hilarious time travel book of Past Aways #1.
Booze and a Book was Punisher #16 paired with a Smithwicks Irish Ale.
And for as much as we love to give our good buddy Jim Towe a bunch of grief, you really should go back his Kickstarter project. It’s truly outrageous.
