Drunk on Comics Podcast 183: GoBots are Transformers, Right?
Derek, Tony and Linz had a plan to start off the podcast with making fun of Adam’s juice cleanse, but it turned into making fun of the Diabetus. And that’s not the only thing that irked Tony today while recording. He was in rare form of sober, so he actually understood the rest of the crew poking the bear throughout the episode.
To further the infuriating discussion for him, while discussing Voltron coming back to TV, Linz asked if it was like Power Rangers. It got worse from there. But some other great news of shows coming back is Tales from the Crypt. Going the route of great internet programming, Street Fighter is continuing its story line after the great Assassins Fist from 2 years ago.
They also reviewed The Last Contract from BOOM! Studios. It was an awesome tale which has equal parts John Wick and Cocoon (the movie). And those of you that don’t get that reference, you are missing out on an 80s gem. But back to the book; the writing is great, and the panels convey a real world atmosphere. We hope the unnamed assassin will get to enjoy his retirement after this story.
