Drunk on Comics podcast 185: Bar Fights and Boob Tricks
An on going joke, which there are many to choose from, involves the many items Tony has in the recording studio. One in particular is the blow up doll he used as a stand in for Miley Cyrus one year for his Halloween costume. With with Linz and Derek making fun of it being in the room, it is only right that we mention the unsung people who show up recording each week.
But after the initial giggle fest from Linz, the crew got into their review of Pencil Head #1. This book is all over the place, and it spells it out right on the front cover. Following how real life comic creators have to deal with problems throughout their careers is only one aspect of the story. Through in a murder of a stripper and Hamburger advertisements and you really have to read it to follow how that ties in. We are waiting to see what happens with the monster following Poodwaddle and how that might tie in with the craziness of the story told so far.
They gang also got into some DC reboot news and how both them and Marvel are aligning their books with their cinematic counter parts. They hope other publishing companies don’t follow suit, and have high hopes for the Dredd series heading to Netflix. They also brought up some nostalgia with the announcement of the Darkwing Duck series coming out soon.
Tony has wanted to do some what if scenarios for some time now, and they started out their new segment which will be talked about from time to time: Bar Fights. This week we had the Battle of the Billionaires of Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark. As cane be argued to no end who would win in these fights, the group came to a consensus, and you will need to listen to find out why they came to their conclusion
