Drunk on Comics Podcast 191: The Perfect Package
Linz decided to not leave Tony high and dry by himself this week for the show. Everyone else missed out on the fun times and great discussions that occurred this week. As with many comic books that the group likes to talk about, they usually pick something already on the shelf. But this week they decided to da a preview/review of The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong #1. This book is hitting shelves on 3-16-16, and it needs to be put in your pull.
Following the story of the duo from previous adventures, we are first given a glimpse of one of Armstrong’s memories of his search for a certain boozy bottle. Which proceeds to lead us into the main action of the comic, a search for something within Armstrong’s bag. And not just any bag, but a bag full of goblins, monsters, trash and more booze. While not too much is given away to save on the spoilers, it is a great adventure to start off for anyone who has not picked up an Archer and Armstrong book before.
There was again some discussion of Batman Vs. Superman, along with news of Venom moving forward, and what could be the quickest turnabout of news involving Sandman. They also got into some rumors of Civil War II as well as the Power Rangers Cast.
Booze and a Book was a pairing of Avengers Standoff: Assault On Pleasant Hill Alpha #1 with Bell’s Oberon. Not that it’s not good, but it’s not the greatest.
