Drunk on Comics Podcast 340: Transitions Like No Other

Linz and Tony are back again with another podcast all up in your face. OK, less all up in your face, and more all up in you general space, with your permission of course.  Either way, we’re here.

This weeks starts off with a discussion about the new season of Daredevil (and some brief idolatry for Vincent D’Onofrio), which turned into a discussion about the cancellation of Iron Fist and Luke Cage (Heroes For Hire?  Fingers crossed.).

For comic reviews this week, Tony reviewed a comic from Ahoy called Captain Ginger (w. Stuart Moore, a. June Brigman).  This books is about cats who evolved in to intelligent beings after the death of the feeders (us…we are the feeders).  For a book about cats, Tony was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable the books was.  I did a really good job of walking the line between anthropomorphizing the cats and falling back on traditional cat behaviors.  Ahoy has really been hitting it out the park in there offerings so far.

Linz reviewed Lucifer #1 (DC, w. Dan Waters, a. Max Fiumara and Sebastian Fiumara).  She was hoping Tony would help clear some stuff up for her, but he was no help at all.  This comic was purposefully chaotic and provocative.  Linz had no better idea of what was going on at the end of it than she did at the beginning, other than Lucifer is bat-shit crazy.  However, the book definitely insists that you read more.

Booze and a Book this week was X-Men Black Mystique #1 with Perrin’s No Rules (Rum Variant).
