Review by Scott Keys
I feel like a broken record when it comes to Quantum and Woody, but, my goodness, this is one of my favorite comics out right now! I’m not going to bore you with the same details I’ve stated before (so this would be a great time to go read my reviews of issues 1 and 2, go ahead, it’s good stuff), but I just can’t help reiterating the fact that the team of Asmus and Fowler are putting together one of the best “funny” books on the market.
Not only does Asmus keep the pop culture references coming (Knowing’s half the battle), and writes hilarious banter between our title characters (check out the back-and-forth about Woody impersonating Eric, it is GOLD!), he’s also crafting a truly compelling and entertaining story. Paired together with Fowler, a comic book lover (and HUGE fan of the original) couldn’t ask for more! Fowler is the perfect compliment to Asmus, knowing when to play up the humor (which is most of the time, let’s be honest), but also drawing some pretty cool action as well! The spider-clown-needle monsters were pretty terrifying, I’ll be honest with you. Don’t believe me? Go read it for yourself, you don’t have to take my word for it 😉
If you’ve made it to issue 3, why would you stop reading this book now? If you haven’t read this book yet, why aren’t you? You have no excuse! Seriously, this is a perfect example of the quality comics that Valiant has been putting out. Quantum and Woody #3 is available now from Valiant Entertainment at your local comic shop and digitally.
