Quantum and Woody have turned the white supremacists to their side, but can they escape the wrath of Magnum’s forces and make it out alive?
Quantum and Woody #8 is another hilarious book by the team-extraordinaire, James Asmus, Ming Doyle and Jordie Bellaire. Doyle’s quirky style and Bellaire’s awesome colors fit perfectly in this absurd world that Asmus has created! Just because the ridiculousness is being said and observed on every page of this book doesn’t make it a bad thing at all. In fact, it’s what gives Quantum and Woody it’s charm. The simple fact that an entire compound of white supremacists now don Quantum’s hood in support of the Not-So-Dynamic Duo, is one of the most hilarious things in this book (and every page has something hilarious!).
They say that comedy is tough, but this creative team makes it look quite easy! Oh, and to answer that question at the beginning: They escaped by sending an incriminating e-mail to a Senator, which turned Magnum’s forces around to leave Q&W alone and clear their names of any wrong-doing. The flashback sequence that explained Eric’s connections is one you’ll have to read, because it’s too funny for words!
I’ve said it so many times that I feel like a broken record, but Quantum and Woody is one of the funniest books on the shelves today, and now that we’re 8 issues in, there has been absolutely no drop in quality. Honestly, I’d say they get better with every issue! Go out and get this wonderful gem from the Valiant Universe and just enjoy the ride!
