Review by Scott Keys

Recently, I’ve been getting into Ultimate Comics Spider-Man thanks to Marvel Unlimited. Once I saw that the Ultimate Universe was invaded by the 616 Galactus and that Mile Morales (Ultimate Spider-Man) was going to be involved, I figured I’d skip ahead to his latest story arc, “Spider-Man, No More.”

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #28 is the final chapter of “Spider-Man, No More,” and a fitting end to Miles’ return to the webs. In the issue, Bendis and Marquez have Spidey, Spider-Woman, Bombshell, and Cloak and Dagger confront Mr. Roxxon about his experimentation on children. Bendis’ writing is as phenomenal as every, balancing the humor and action exceptionally well. I love how he threw Roxxon out of the building and Miles is like “I got it…I saw it in a movie.” That’s just so much awesome! Of course, the illustration of said scene (and the whole book, truthfully) was so beautifully done by Marquez. That action and comic relief that Bendis puts in this book mean nothing without Mr. Marquez’s talent. That look of sheer terror on Roxxon’s face as he’s falling out the window is great! And his depiction of Spider-Man is incredible! So fluid and kinetic, just how Spidey’s supposed to be (no matter who’s under the mask!).

I’ll be following Miles into Cataclysm, and hopefully somewhere afterward as well (the 616 maybe?). Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #28 was incredible from start to finish! No complaints from me on this book!
