Advanced Review by Scott Keys

After the events Planet Death, Robert Venditti and Lee Garbett take us on a new adventure starting with this issue. Venditti has been writing one of the best books on the market with X-O Manowar, and this issue was no exception. As we change gears from Planet Death, we get an issue to wind down before our next adventure begins.

I really enjoyed Gaudiano’s inks over Garbett’s pencils! I feel it gave them a little more depth and the images really popped off the page. And you can never go wrong with Moose’s colors…wow! This issue also marks the return of Gilad, the Eternal Warrior to the X-O Manowar story, and boy, will you enjoy his scenes.

I enjoyed this issue, which allowed us to “catch our breath” before going full bore into the next arc. Venditti’s script had great character moments and even a little action (can’t take it out completely, can you?) and the art team did a great job with Venditti’s script.

Art: 4.5 / 5

Overall: 4.5 / 5
