Drunk on Comics Podcast 268: Anniversaries Galore…In French
Linz, Tony, and Josh gathered together to celebrate some momentous occasions this week. Linz’s birthday to start but then the bombastic bash that has come to be known as WedCon 2017 (congratz Derek and Mel…we love you!). The penultimate celebration, however, was 5 years of Drunk on Comics! That’s right, you beautiful listeners; Drunk on Comics has been invading your ear-holes for 5 years now. We’ve loved every minute of it, and we hope you have too.
After some reminiscing and review of the weekend, Tony got down to business with some reviews of some surprisingly awesome DC books. The Lobo/Road Runner Special #1 and the Wonder Woman/Tasmanian Devil Special #1 were both on Tony’s pull this week, and they were both awesome! Everyone on the DoC crew was apprehensive about how this crossover attempt would turn out, but any doubt has been quashed. The stories are well written and pull the Looney Tunes universe and the DC universe together perfectly. The art is a great combination of DC house and Looney Tunes animation style, so as to give both art forms their moment. If you were wary about picking any of these books up, we say just do it! We do not think you will be disappointed.
The gang covered a lot of movie news this week, including what will happen in Phase 4 of DCU, the Young Han Solo’s new director, and what is in the future for our favorite web-slinger and his collective.
Booze and Book this week was Daredevil #22 paired with Brewery Vivant’s Farmhand.
