Drunk on Comics Podcast 333: A Fly in Your Throat
It seemed like the comic book industry took a vacation as well as many Americans did with the Labor Day weekend. This week had a lot fewer pulls on Linz and Tony’s lists this week, which was great for catching up on back issues. It also was lacking any substantial news, but the drunken duo was able to come up with enough to talk about this week.
Linz reviewed Rick and Morty VS. Dungeons and Dragons #1. Although she doesn’t understand all the references and inside jokes of D&D, Tony enjoyed what he was hearing. He didn’t get to reading it, but after her review, is putting it on his pull list for the 4 part series.
Tony had a few books he wanted to talk about. He reviewed Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Shattered Grid #1, which although had some troupes that were dead ringers for wrapping up the story, also had much to explore in the Power Rangers universe. He also reviewed the 2 of the Looney Tunes/DC crossovers with Harley Quinn Gossamer Special #1 as well as Joker Daffy Duck Special #1. He also talked briefly about Hunt for Wolverine: Dead Ends #1 which really is all you need to catch up on his return to the comic book realm.
Booze and a Book this week was Edge of Spider-Gedden #2 paired with a Venom drink.
