Drunk on Comics Podcast 405: Sellouts

Tony abandoned us this week for a much lamer weekend of enjoying a free hotel room in a casino with free drinks, so Linz, Anthony, and Charles all gathered a Studio D (Linz’s house if you are keeping track).

Linz reviewed the latest anthology from DC, Crimes of Passion. It definitely was not a Valentine’s Day tale, although that may have been their intention. While all the stories were very good, a majority of them were super depressing. So perhaps a Valentine’s Day book for lonely heroes? Anthony reviewed a book without pictures, the third book from the Reckoners series, Calamity (written by Brandon Sanderson). Such an interesting story about absolute power corrupting absolutely. A must read for an fan of the capes. Charles reviewed (re-viewed???) the comic adaptation of the Alien 3 screenplay along with the audio drama of the screenplay.

Along with all the juiciest news bigs, new DoC podcasts were introduced and the podcast acquired 4 new sponsors (without these sponsors knowledge or approval). So we would like to thank our new sponsors:

  • Zima (with out without Jolly Ranchers)
  • White Claw (is that one word or two?)
  • Audible (where you can get the Alien 3 audio drama!)
  • Vista Print (get your first 100 business cards…)

Booze and Book this week was Ant-Man #1 paired with a shot of tequila.
