Drunk on Comics Podcast 286: Grand Rapids Comic Con Part 2
In this weeks episode of the show, Tony was able to sit down with some of the guests (as well as friends of the show) to discuss this years Grand Rapids Comic Con as well as what is new in their endeavors of the comic book world. With most conventions, everyone’s time is usually limited, but since we are all part of one big comic con family, you will be hearing more from them later in the year.
Starting off with this batch of interview is Joe Hubbard. He is the creator of MI Geek Scene. He has made a one stop site for all the conventions and events that any person of geek persuasion will want to check out. So head on over to MI Geek Scene for more info on events in the Michigan area.
Next we have C.R . Warner. Her art is one of Tony’s favorites at local fairs and happenings. This is her first comic convention, and she let us know what she enjoyed, and where her plans are in the future to show off her talents. We also learned that she i not so creative on names for her characters, so give some suggestions if you see her work. Her art can be found at C.R.Warner.com.
Travis McIntire has helped foster Source Point Press into being the place for Michigan Comic Book artists to bring their ideas to life. The company is working on many other avenues of media to make Source Point Press a juggernaut in the business. As always, he is pretty candid with his thoughts and is always great for an interview that goes way longer than expected.
Lastly, we would be doing a disservice to our fans if we didn’t include Dirk Manning for some updates on what he is doing. He has many projects in the bag, with many more coming out each month. The best place to find all of his info is at his facebook group: The F(r)iends of Dirk Manning support group.
