Drunk on Comics Podcast 197: Take Two
Well this week was a trial getting a podcast recorded. Tony, Adam and Linz got on the mics to record this week. Unfortunately an equipment failure occurred halfway through recording and all was lost. Some of the jokes were lost to the initial recording and still definitely referenced throughout. However, with the amazing conversations the crew has, they were all able to still record enough to make a show this week.
We spoke of the sudden deaths of two icons within their respective industries. Chyna, the Ninth Wonder of the World from the WWE passed away and the team reflected on some of her accomplishments in the squared ring, as well as some things outside. Then there was Prince from, well almost everything music, and how his passion for industry will never be surpassed. We also talked about the many purple drinks Tony had this week, which then got paired with Batgirl #40 for Booze and a Book.
The group also reviewed 4 Kids Walked Into a Bank #1. It is your typical teenage drama revolving around D&D, CB radios, thugs and friendship. Each of the characters has their unique trait and acts in a way that would actually be normal for kids. The dialogue and the panel layouts really set the tone for this book. But don’t think this is a book for youngsters. This book is beyond funny, and the intricate ways that information is given to the reading audience really fleshes out the story. We can’t wait to find out more to come along in this tale.
