Drunk on Comics Podcast 331: BOOOOO! Roman Reigns
What an electrifying episode we have this week. And that is a literal sentence. Besides the pranks and fun we always have, we also take time to be serious and talk about death of some people we look up to. This past week saw the passing of the great Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart. Wrestling and Comics fans are very interchangeable, and Tony for sure is sadden by the tragic loss of a WWE legend. But now on to some more fun stuff.
Linz brought more books than Tony this week, so she kicked off some reviews. They discussed some suprise deaths in the pages of Extermination #1, which is the start of the new event for the mutants of Marvel. She also talked about Astonishing X-men Annual #1. Since annuals can sometimes be stand alones, the group isn’t sure the resolution of events will come about in future pages.
Tony briefly talked about Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #30. The next issue wraps up the Shattered Grid story, but this issue had a ton of action and character development that it needed to be talked about. Tony is really looking forward to how Boom! will top this epic tale.
They both got into the next Spider-man event which is Edge of Spider-Geddon #1. Just like the spider-verse stories that had some prequel set up of other Spider-men across the universe, this book reintroduces us to Spider-punk. The book was a fun read and it seems there is so much more to come in this adventure
Booze and a Book was Ice Cream Man #5 paired with a Neapolitan Stout. It really is a perfect pairing for this book.
