Things are heating up with Superman Unchained, and issue 3 is on fire! We get some questions answered as other questions arise.

Snyder is continuing his reign as “THE Writer” at DC Comics and this issue is a perfect example of how he is able to claim that throne. He is able to build upon the New 52’s history and give Superman a rival that is more powerful and experienced than Superman himself. I’m really digging Wraith (and how he got that name), and Snyder is even making Lex more of a threat to Superman than he has been in awhile. It’s always cool when writers add to the Superman mythos, and Snyder is definitely making his mark with this book! Just check out the last page of the main story…WHAT?!?

Jim Lee’s still got it! The man that re-designed the DC Comics characters and helped launch the New 52 is doing some of his best work on this title. His iconic style suits this grandiose tale quite well, and the action scenes are so dynamic! When Wraith kicks Superman across the state of Utah and the carnage created from that…WOW!

And let’s not forget about Dustin Nguyen’s back-up tale. I love his style so much. He makes a bachelor’s refrigerator look good. Looks like Jimmy’s in trouble now! That’s the price you pay for being Superman’s Pal.

Superman Unchained #3 was a fun, action-packed tale. What’s gonna happen to Jimmy? What was that last page with Superman and Wraith about? Why do I keep asking rhetorical questions? I don’t know, but I highly recommend this book, especially if you are a Superman fan.
