Drunk on Comics Podcast 304: A River Ruins Through It

This past week, Tony was able to salvage his beer drinking this weekend after plans for the biggest beer festival of the year was canceled.  And Linz did Linz things.  So all is normal in the land of the D.O.C.   But the show starts off with a WTF moment of what is going on with Marvel and their need to rebrand every year.  But some books were reviewed in this extra long episode as well.

Tony spoke about the mysterious Voyager from the pages of Avengers #681.  The story has been interesting so far, and small reveals each week has made this a pick for Tony.  With finding out the origins of Voyager, it seems to be as if this character really has been around since the beginning.  But something is off about this, and in the later half of this weekly, Tony is sure to find out.

Linz spoke about The Brave and the Bold #1 and the intersting Irish fantasy setting which is the focal point of the story arc.   From the land of Tir Na Nog, comes a new threat that may affect not only the world of fairies, but also Gotham as well.   The barrier between realms is weakening, and its up to Wonder Woman and Batman to help find out why.

Tony went on a long winded review of Infinity Countdown Prime #1.  Not only did he speak about where the stones are currently, he gave a brief history of the gems as well.  The infinity gauntlet is one of his favorite stories, so whenever there is mention of the stones, Tony gets way too excited.  With this story unfolding the way it has, its refreshing to see main players not be the typical ones who have wielded the gems before.
