Drunk on Comics Podcast 154: The Worstest Podcast Ever
Drunk on Comics has always been about the great conversations of comic books for you to listen and get your fill on what is important in nerdom lore. With that, we have started to expand our roster to include a few more voices to help fill in the gaps while life happens for some of the core members. This week had the introduction of New Derek, as well as Linz, the most foul mouthed groupie we have ever had. Joining them in this episode is Tony who as always, is pushing the limits of the English language.
Derek started off the show talking about Midnighter #1, who seems like a very hardcore book from DC. The way the art shows the mechanics of a cybernetic brain, and the adult content alone make it worth picking up. Linz picked up Broken World #1. She broke the cardinal rule of the show by actually not spoiling where the book is going. But everyone in the studio got to see the ending, and it seems like it is going to be an interesting world to cover in future issues. Tony has found his new favorite book in Bizarro #1. It might be because Bizarro speaks in english just as well as he can, which is why he can relate so well with this 6 part series.
Indie Turnpike was The Maxx Maxximized #20. This is a reissue of the famed cult classic which needs to be read entirely to understand the symbolism within the pages.
Booze and a book was a perfect pairing after a Great Gatsby Party in which Tony had a Bee’s Knees drink. He paired it with Superior Iron Man #9.
