Drunk on Comics Podcast 353: Old Timey-Whimey

Linz, Tony, and Charles meet up this week to talk about all things old and new…well mostly old. 90’s websites, Stan Lee, Barbara Mason, Old Starlord….it’s all there, in a neat little package that may or may not smell like Werther’s Orginal and Bengay.

Linz reviewed Age of X-man: The Marvelous X-men #1 (w. Zac Thompson, Lonnie Nadler a. Marco Failla; Marvel). Utopia is…well…boring. The current iteration of the X-men have definitely adjusted to their new lives, but you know it won’t last long. It is the X-men after all.

Tony reviewed Oberon #1 (w. Ryan Parrott, a. Milos Slavkovic; Aftershock Comics). Frog guards, spunk red-headed heroes, trash monsters, and a former king of the faeries…it is has everything you could want out of fantasy story.

Linz and Tony both reviewed Old Man Quill #1 (w. Ethan Sacks, a. Robert Gill; Marvel). Marvel’s latest title to take place in what we will now refer as the “Old Man Universe” starts out with ripping the heart out of Peter Quill and the showing us what age (and sorrow) does to the Guardians of the Galaxy. It will be interesting to see where this title goes and if/how it relates to the other Old Man titles.

Booze and a Book this week was Man and Superman 100-page Super Spectacular #1 paired with Bud/Bud Light.
